Swartz helps Altoona defeat DuBois

DuBOIS — The Altoona Area boys volleyball team improved to 2-0 Tuesday night, thanks to a 25-14, 25-15, 25-22 win at DuBois in high school action.

The Mountain Lions got 17 kills and 11 digs from Phillip Swartz to go with 11 service points and 11 digs from Dalton Keller. Chris Ball added 15 assists to go with 14 assists from Masen Nartatez. Nick Snyder contributed 12 digs.

Hollidaysburg unbeaten

The Hollidaysburg Area High School boys tennis team improved to 7-0 with a 9-0 victory over Mercersburg Academy at the Summit Tennis & Athletic Club.

Rami Alkhafaji, Rohan Gupta, Anthony Menard, David Auerbeck and Nick Viduya each won a singles and doubles match.

John Rose won a singles match, and Will Tyndall won in doubles competition.

Bedford 8-0

BEDFORD — Caleb Beidle, Jess Hampton and Luke Dague swept the singles competition as Bedford topped Central Cambria, 4-1, at the North Fork Tennis Club in high school boys tennis.

Zach Kachman and Lance Dague won at No. 1 doubles for the Bisons.

Sam Swope and Alex Gibson won at No. 2 doubles for the Red Devils.

Bedford improved to 8-0 as Central Cambria dropped its opener.
