Two Penn State Altoona men’s tennis players were voted to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s all-conference team, as the league released its postseason honors on Tuesday.

Freshman Parag Dharbhamulla was selected as the AMCC’s co-Newcomer of the Year, sharing the recognition with Franciscan University’s Luke Conrad. Meanwhile, junior Jonathan D’Arcy earned second-team all-AMCC honors.

n Penn State Altoona softball’s freshman pitcher Emily Strouse picked up two more weekly awards on Tuesday for her performance in the circle last week, as she was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference’s Division III South Region Pitcher of the Week and Rookie of the Week.

n After a 6-0 week, including a sweep at Penn State and a 4-0 NEC weekend, two Saint Francis Softball players have earned NEC weekly awards. Junior Hayley Norton was named NEC Player of the Week, while sophomore Abby Trahan repeated as NEC Pitcher of the Week.

n Two Penn State tennis players were awarded Big Ten All-Conference honors Thursday. Junior Constant De La Bassetiere took home a First-Team All-Big Ten award. Christian Lakoseljac was honored with a Second-Team All-Big Ten award. Christos Antonopoulos was this year’s Sportsmanship Award Honoree from Penn State.

n Off The Block has announced that Penn State volleyball redshirt-senior Jalen Penrose as the publication’s Server of the Year for his efforts from the service line in 2018.

n The University of Pittsburgh signed Director of Athletics Heather Lyke to a new six-year contract, which will keep her at the university through at least 2024, Chancellor Patrick Gallagher announced Friday. The move reflects the university’s long-term commitment to strengthening its athletics programs under Lyke, who has just wrapped up her first year at Pitt.
