Patton’s double lifts Lady Devils

H.S. softball

BELLWOOD — Sophomore Faith Patton’s two-run walkoff double capped Bellwood-Antis’ rally in a 5-4 win over Moshannon Valley in high school softball on Monday.

Patton finished with three hits in four at-bats.

Haley Schmidt, also a sophomore, pitched a complete game for the Lady Blue Devils, striking out 11 batters and also hitting a double. Sidney Lewis smacked a two-run homer for the Damsels.

MILL HALL — Hollidaysburg struggled on the road as Central Mountain poured on 11 runs in a 4¢-inning shutout victory.

Autumn Dershem hit two doubles for Central Mountain, while winning pitcher Caitlyn Brush had a triple and single as part of 13 total Lady Wildcat hits.

Kelly Marchi was the lone batter with a hit for Hollidaysburg, which fell to 0-2.
