Lady Hornets edge Lady Pirates in twinbill

ALEXANDRIA — Juniata Valley’s Paige Beam homered and doubled in the second game of a high school softball doubleheader sweep of Williamsburg and was the winning pitcher in the first game on Friday.

The Lady Hornets took the first game by an 8-6 count and were a 5-4 victor in the second game.

Brooke Boonie had three RBIs for the Lady Hornets in the first game, and Kady Belinda doubled and was the winning pitcher in the second game.

Olivia England had three hits and two RBIs in the first game and drove in another run in the second game for the Lady Pirates.
