Heights wins thanks to Garrison’s home run

PATTON — Emma Garrison slugged a walkoff grand slam with no outs in the bottom of the seventh to keep Cambria Heights undefeated by downing visiting Johnstown, 10-6, in Laurel Highlands Conference high school softball action on Thursday.

Garrison drove in five runs. The Lady Highlanders also received two hits and two RBIs from Charlotte Farabaugh and two hits apiece from Carolyn McMullen and Paige Jones, the winning pitcher in relief. Shaelynn Myers and Kayle Lewis homered for Johnstown.

MARTINSBURG — Winning pitcher Dylan Claycomb homered, doubled and knocked in four runs in leading Central to a Mountain League victory over visiting Bald Eagle Area.

Claycomb scattered five hits. Olivia Smith collected three hits for the Lady Dragons, who also received a homer, single and three RBIs from Cameryn Feathers and two RBIs from Jenna Ritchey.
