H.S. softball

MARTINSBURG — Cameryn Feathers homered and had three RBIs to lead Central past Penn Cambria, 13-5, in high school softball on Friday.

Ashley Negley had two hits and two RBIs for Central, while Kate Thompson picked up the victory. Jenna Gailey had a double and two RBIs for Penn Cambria.

EBENSBURG — Emma Simmons earned two wins and also collected six hits with two home runs and five RBIs to help Bishop Carroll beat Central Cambria in a doubleheader, 7-6 and 9-2.

In the first game, Carly Clark drove in three runs and had two hits for Carroll. Also with two hits were Alivia Borlie, Marlee Howard, Amber Beck and Sarah McAndrew. Cassie Bezek had three hits for Central Cambria, and Ashley Deetscreek had two hits and two RBIs.

In the second game, Howard, McAndrew, Adie Divido and Lily Golden each had two hits for BC with Golden driving in two runs. Abbie Young and Bezek each had two hits for CC.

HOUTZDALE — Sidney Lewis homered, doubled, singled, drove in three runs and pitched the last six innings to get the win as Moshannon Valley outlasted visiting Bellwood-Antis in an Inter-County Conference North Division slugfest.

Kendra Merritt collected three hits, while Aubrey Dotts had two hits and four RBIs for Mo Valley, which also got three RBIs from Emma Kitko. Bellwood’s Haley Schmidt was 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, B-A’s Gabrielle Finn registered two hits and two RBIs, and teammate Jestelynn Heaton doubled and singled.
