Clapper helps lead Penn State Behrend

Madison Clapper, a Hollidaysburg graduate, helped the Penn State Behrend women’s volleyball team capture the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s volleyball championship.

Clapper led the team as a freshman with 469 digs and was named rookie of the year by the team. She played in 111 sets, second most on the team.

Bellwood-Antis graduate Jacqueline Finn hit a pair of home runs for the New York University softball team in a 6-4 victory over Case Western Reserve on Friday.

Finn is hitting .514 with four home runs, five doubles and 13 RBIs through 14 games.

Isaac Vescovi, a Cambria Heights graduate, was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s Top-10 Award List for the second consecutive year for his efforts at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

Vescovi averaged 20.9 points per game for the men’s basketball team and carried a 3.99 GPA in the classroom.

Bellwood-Antis graduate Sawyer Kline was selected at the Eastern College Athletic Conference’s Rookie of the Week for Division III’s South Region for his pitching performance on the Penn State Altoona baseball team.

Over two appearances in a doubleheader against Alfred State, Kline picked up his first collegiate win. He pitched 5ª innings, struck out five batters and posted a 3.18 ERA.

Julia Nagle, an Altoona graduate, swept her singles match and won at No. 2 doubles for the Lycoming women’s tennis team in an 8-1 victory over Albright.

Nagle became the 14th player in school history to reach 40 career combined wins.

Altoona graduate Abby Wagner posted a mark of 38 feet, 2§ inches in the triple jump for the Shippensburg women’s track and field team at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell despite strong negative winds.
