Central’s Nicewonger shackles Tyrone

TYRONE — Brady Nicewonger fired a five-hitter to help Central down Tyrone, 5-1, in Mountain League high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Preston Karstetter drove in two runs for the Scarlet Dragons, and Hunter Klotz and Luke Williams each had two. Andrew Pearson had three of Tyrone’s five hits.

PHILIPSBURG — Riley Phillips smacked two hits and collected three RBIs to lead Philipsburg-Osceola to a five-inning victory over Bald Eagle Area.

Josh earnest doubled, singled and drove in two runs, while Trey Shaw also drove home two teammates and winning pitcher Keegan Soltis aided his own cause with three hits.
