Trout races to win at Lincoln Speedway

ABBOTTSTOWN — Chad Trout raced to his first-career 410 sprint car win in Saturday’s season-opening $4,000-to-win “Icebreaker 30” at Lincoln Speedway.

At the checkers, Brandon Rahmer settled for second, with Kyle Moody third, Gerard McIntyre Jr. fourth, and Greg Hodnett fifth. Sixth through 10th were Freddie Rahmer (who flipped in warm-ups and made repairs for his heat), Jim Siegle, hard-charger Alan Krimes (who started 20th), Tim Glatfelter and Glenndon Forsythe.

Next Saturday, Lincoln Speedway returns with another single-division 410 sprint car show. Then immediately afterward, an open practice session will be held for all regularly-scheduled divisions. Gates open at noon, with qualifying to begin at 2 p.m.


n Port Royal Speedway is ready to get the 2018 racing season started, coming up this Saturday at 5 p.m.

n On the opening day, the racing card will be the Weikert’s Livestock 410 sprints and the River Valley Builders super late models. The super sprint cars will race in a 25-lap main paying $4,000 to win while the super lates compete for $2,200 to win.

n Williams Grove Speedway is set to lift the curtain on the 2018 racing season coming up this Sunday at 2 p.m. with a sprint car only program. Featuring the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars, the Sunday afternoon card will find the sprint car stars getting the season started with a full complement of heat races and a 25-lap feature paying $3,600 to win.
