Hollidaysburg freshman top Maroon

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Mitchell Krazter scored 15 points, and Jake McGinnis added 13 points as Hollidaysburg topped Altoona Maroon, 39-30, in freshman boys basketball Thursday.

Altoona got 17 points from Jake Corso.

ALTOONA MAROON (30): Schilling 5, Schimminger 3, Ebersole 2, Pheasant 1, Dokes 2, Corso 17.

HOLLIDAYSBURG (39): McGinnis 13, Martellacci 2, Krazter 15, Gampe 5, Zimmerman 2, Arney 2.

Records: Altoona Maroon (4-11); Hollidaysburg (14-2).

Penns Valley 33

SPRING MILLS — Landen DeHass scored a game-high 14 points to lead Tyrone to a victory over Penns Valley in freshman boys basketball.

Tyrone is now 14-2.

TYRONE (40): DeHaas 14, Rhoades 13, Lang 7, Gampe 6.

SPRING MILLS (33): Brinker 10, Aston 12, Braucht 7, Emel 4.

Williamsburg 49

Juniata Valley 23

WILLIAMSBURG — Tyler Jenkins scored 11 points, and Drew Hileman added 10 points as Williamsburg topped Juniata Valley in freshman boys basketball.

Jace Rand led the Hornets with nine points.

Williamsburg improved to 10-3 while Juniata Valley slipped to 5-12.

JUNIATA VALLEY (23): Johnson 8, Hammond 2, Rand 9, Edwards 4.

WILLIAMSBURG (49): Clark 5, Frew 5, Hileman 10, Jenkins 11, McCall 2, McGuire 3, Price 6, Palmer 7.

Records: Juniata Valley (5-12); Williamsburg (10-3).

PSU lacrosse on TV

UNIVERSITY PARK — ESPN announced its spring lacrosse television schedule on Wednesday evening with Penn State men’s lacrosse receiving national coverage on ESPNU twice this season.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Ohio State for their Big Ten season opener and will be featured on ESPNU on Saturday, March 31 at 3 p.m. ET.

Penn State will also be featured on ESPNU on when they host Johns Hopkins on Saturday, April 14 at 2 p.m.

Game times for the remaining Big Ten contests will be announced following the announcement of remaining TV selections.

Times and dates for all games are subject to change as TV schedules are finalized.
