Giger captures football contest

Cory Giger has emerged as the champion in the Altoona Mirror’s 2017 Fearless Football Contest.

Giger correctly picked 356 of 470 professional, college and high school football games to earn the title.

John Hartsock finished in second place with a 348-122 record, and Mike Boytim was third with a record of 346-124.

Todd Irwin and Philip Cmor finished in a tie for fourth place with identical 345-125 records, while Buck Frank was sixth at 343-137 and Scott Franco was seventh with a record of 323-147. The 16 guest pickers logged a cumulative record of 317-153.
