Lady Mounties improve league mark to 8-1

CRESSON — The Mount Aloysius women’s basketball team improved to 8-1 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Wednesday night, thanks to a 64-28 win over Franciscan.

The Lady Mounties (10-4) got 14 points from Breana Kendrick to go with 12 points from Kara Cordell. Alexia Servello added 11 points in a game the Mount led, 27-10, at halftime. Lea Sammarco came off the bench to score 10 points.

The Lady Barons (0-14, AMCC 0-9) got six points each from Gabby DeJesus and Annie McGraw.

Christine sparks Lady Lions

Finnley Christine scored 23 points to help the Penn State Altoona women to an 84-56 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference win over Pitt-Greensburg at the Adler Athletic Complex.

The Lady Lions, up 44-28 at halftime, also got 12 points and 10 rebounds from Alexis Cannistraci to go with 14 points from Megan Wheeler. Kaley Strittmatter came off the bench to score 10 points for the Lady Lions (6-7, AMCC 3-6).

Pitt-Greensburg (3-14, AMCC 3-7) got 18 points from Kelsey Oddis.

Stauffer big off JC bench

HUNTINGDON — Juniata College improved to 14-1 overall and 3-1 in the Landmark Conference, thanks to a 65-46 win over Susquehanna.

Juniata, up 28-10 at halftime, got 24 pints off the bench from Gracie Stauffer.

The Lady Eagles also got 15 points from Dani Atkinson to go with 11 points from Veronica Cosmopolis.

Susquehanna (6-8, LC 1-3) got 14 points each from Maddie Murray and Megan McFadden.

Lions put up big numbers

The Penn State Altoona men’s team improved to 10-6 overall and 6-3 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference with a 95-84 win over Pitt-Greensburg at the Adler Athletic Complex.

The Lions, up 43-37 at halftime, got 28 points from Rich Bouknight and 23 points from Ishimeal Nance. Aubrey Washington II came off the bench to score 13 for the winners.

The Panthers (5-10, AMCC 3-7) got 16 points from Cam Seigfreid.

Stover sparks Mount men

CRESSON — The Mount Aloysius men’s team improved to 2-13 overall with a 66-61 win over Franciscan in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game.

Julian Stover led the Mounties (AMCC 2-7) with 21 points whilie Tommy Pisula added 17 points in a game the Mount led, 30-29, at halftime.

Juwan Perkins led the Barons (3-13, AMCC 2-7) with 16 points.

JC men lose on the road

SELINSGROVE — The Juniata College men lost for only the third time this season, falling to 13-3 overall with a 70-68 loss at Susquehanna in a Landmark Conference matchup.

Marcus Lee led Juniata, up 30-21 at halftime, with 28 points. Seth Brewer added 14 for the Eagles (LC 2-3).

Susquehanna (6-9, LC 3-2) got 26 points from Seth Callahan.
