SFU bowlers second

The Saint Francis bowling team finished second in Sunday’s final round of the Red Flash Invitational at Holiday Bowl. After dominating the top of the leaderboard all weekend, finishing 399 pins in front of second seed Lincoln Memorial, it was the Railsplitters who took home the title in bracket best four out of seven baker play.

Kyra Udziela led the scoring for the Flash with an impressive 22.26 frame average for the day and 21.43 frame average for the weekend in baker play. Sarah Littleton picked up where she left off yestersday after averaging 211.6 in traditional play, she averaged 20.65 for the entire weekend of baker play. Britney Grey and Haley Carroll both contributed nicely with a 19.87 and 19.6 frame average respectively. Hannah Schorr came in for the Flash and in her 25 completed frames fired a 19.48 frame average.

“There was some important steps this team took over the last couple of days that made a difference this weekend, and will payoff moving forward,” Saint Francis coach Tom Falbo said. “The main step was doing a better job at getting our talented pool of players in when we need them. We have been running five strong and they have stepped up so well. However it is the play of our entire team making a positive difference these last two days for our scoring and chemistry.”

Seventeen teams participated in the event.
