Lions hold on to beat rivals

Quarterback Marcus Day’s 45-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was the difference as Altoona clipped Hollidaysburg, 14-7, Thursday night in freshman football action at Mansion Park.

Day earlier threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Edwin Franklin to tie the game at 7-7 in the second quarter.

Bryce Martellacci tossed a 22-yard pass to Deshaun Moss for Hollidaysburg’s touchdown.

The Mountain Lions improved to 5-1 while Hollidaysburg fell to 2-2-1. Next Thursday, the Golden Tigers will host Mount Pleasant while Altoona plays host to Pittsburgh Central Catholic.
