The top two teams from each pool advance to the single-elimination tournament which begins on Thursday.
The top seed from Pool C will play the second seed from Pool D, which consists of New Orleans, New York, Maryland State and Chicago South Shore. The second seed from Pool C will play the top-seeded team from Pool D.
Johnston Realty defeated Cumming Motors three games to one in its Altoona AAABA championship series to earn the right to represent the city in the national tournament.
“We have to play sound defense, and we’ve got to get clutch hits,” Goodling said. “We have to put the ball in play and get the big hits.”
Johnstown’s second entry, Paul Carpenter Capital Advisors, will play defending champion Zanesville in a championship-game rematch at Point Stadium today at noon. Martella’s Pharmacy plays Baltimore at 7:30 p.m. All other games will begin at noon.
