Martin Oil sweeps Sheetz; Park wins
Martin Oil kept its late start to the season going strong, taking a pair of wins Saturday, 2-1 and 6-2, in a doubleheader against Sheetz at Geesey Park on Saturday in the George B. Kelley Federation.
Nevin Wood went 2-for-3 for Martin Oil in the first game, driving in two runs on a double and single. Blake Johnston was the winning pitcher. Nathan LaMark and Dyland Singer each had two hits for Sheetz.
In the second game, Martin Oil received multi-hit days from Alex Schmoke, Ian McFarland and Noah Burns. Burns doubled and drove in two runs, while Nevin Wood drove in a run to complement his 11-strikeout day from the mound. Silas Dishong had two hits for Sheetz, including a double.
Martin Oil improved to 8-1, while Sheetz fell to 11-5.

Trevor Miller threw the final five innings to earn the win as Park Home down Dick’s Pharmacy in six innings at Vets Field.
Miller also had three hits and two RBIs, John Gority and Ian Yon each had two hits and two RBIs, Dom Georgiana had three hits, and Andrew Hale drove in two runs.
Dalton Keller delivered three hits for Dick’s, and Bryce Noland and Zach Stosch each had two hits.

NEW ENTERPRISE — Aidan Kelly threw out the would-be tying run at the plate from center field in the bottom of the seventh inning to preserve Gearhart Moving & Storage’s 2-1 win over Northern Bedford in Area 4 VFW 14-and-under play.
Josh Bardelang went the distance for Gearhart’s, scattering seven hits. Dawson Rightenour took the loss despite holding Gearhart’s to four hits while striking out seven. Evan Clouse had two hits for Northern Bedford.
