Bedford improves record to 13-0; BG now 9-1

SAXTON — Bedford improved to 13-0 with a 5-0 sweep of Tussey Mountain in high school boys tennis action on Tuesday.

Jess Hampton, Caleb Beidle and Willie Bonn won the singles matches, and Luke Dague and Zach Kachman, and Lance Dague and Joey Windows swept the doubles matches.

Marauders top Westmont

Vincent D’Andrea and Cole Rinker notched straight-set singles wins to spark Bishop Guilfoyle’s 4-1 win over Westmont Hilltop at the Herb Faris Courts at Mansion Park.

Matt Unpingco and Nick Rasmussen teamed for a doubles point for the Marauders, who also picked up a doubles victory from Nick Nale and Carson Beach.

Tigers win again

MERCERSBURG — Rami Alkhafaji, Anthony Menard, Sammy Obeid and Nick Viduya were winners in both singles and doubles as Hollidaysburg remained unbeaten with a 5-2 victory at Mercersburg Academy.

The event used college scoring rules, so the three doubles matches counted for one team point. Obeid and Viduya won their singles matches in straight sets, while Alkhafaji and Menard needed three.

Bearcats triumph

TYRONE — Soren Borgardt won a singles match and a doubles match for Huntingdon in a 5-2 victory over Tyrone.

Peter Kruse and Pierce Hunter-Kysor also won singles matches for the Bearcats. Bruce Perow teamed with Borgardt to win at No. 1 doubles, and Joe Hark and Jon Basom won at No. 2 doubles.

Ethan Vipond and A.J. Grassi won singles matches for Tyrone.

The Red Devils dipped to 1-6.
