Jerome will headline pro day for Red Flash

From Mirror reports

LORETTO — Saint Francis safety Lorenzo Jerome continues the NFL Draft process this Thursday when he participates in his pro day at the Ironhorse Sports Complex in Windber. The event begins at 4:30 p.m.

Jerome competed at the NFL Combine on March 6 in Indianapolis. He was the first player in Saint Francis and NEC history to earn an invitation to the combine. He will look to improve on his times at the NFL Combine in the 40-yard Dash (4.70) and 3-Cone Drill (7.63). He will also do the broad jump and vertical jump drills.

Jerome is trying to become the first SFU player drafted by the NFL since Ed Stofko was taken in the ninth round of the 1944 draft by the Chicago/Pittsburgh Cardinals/Steelers. The last SFU player to appear in an NFL game was Joe Restic in 1952 for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Florida native also became the first player in Saint Francis and NEC history to be invited to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and Senior Bowl. He was named MVP of the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl after recording two interceptions. He followed that performance with two interceptions and a forced fumble in the Senior Bowl.

The first-team All-NEC selection led the Red Flash to a 7-5 record this season, helping SFU to win its first-ever NEC regular-season title and clinch its first-ever FCS playoff bid. Jerome was named All-America by six different publications, including Athlon Sports, the Associated Press, College Sports Madness, HERO Sports, STATS FCS and the Walter Camp Foundation. College Sports Madness named Jerome All-America as both a defensive back and a kick returner.

Jerome was third on SFU with 59 tackles this season, including 33 solo and 5.5 for loss. He added 2.5 sacks, five pass breakups and returned a fumble 89 yards for a touchdown, doing all of that in 10 games.
