Iuzzolino returns to DeGol Arena

LORETTO — Saint Francis legend Mike Iuzollino was back in DeGol Arena on Saturday, this time with the visiting team as he’s in his first season as an assistant for Robert Morris.

“It’s always special being back here,” Iuzzolino said after the game. “This is my hometown where I grew up, and there’s a lot of very fond memories. It’s always nice to see family and friends.”

Iuzzolino said it didn’t feel strange being back in the gym with the visiting team and noted, “You just go out and you’re trying to win a game, help your guys try and win a game.”

The Colonials are having a tough season and are now 3-7 in the NEC, but they have been extremely competitive in most of their games.

“We’re just trying to grind it out and find our way and just keep working hard every day to get better,” Iuzzolino said. ‘You’ve got to stay together at this time of year because it’s easy to fall apart when things aren’t going well, but I think our guys are staying together.”
