D6 all-star game Wednesday

Nine area seniors – including four from Bellwood-Antis – will be among the 28 players participating in the Pennsylvania Softball Coaches Association District 6 All-Star Games on Wednesday night at Beard Field at Penn State Softball Park.

The team breakdown will be determined after a practice at Bellwood on Tuesday. There will be two games, the first starting at 6 p.m., with a Hall of Fame induction ceremony in between.

Bellwood’s Taylor Shildt, Caroline Showalter, Eden Convery and Laycee Clark all will be in action, along with Philipsburg-Osceola’s Haylee Hayward and Chelsey Henry, Glendale’s Anna Fowler, Bishop Guilfoyle Brayley Lewis and Hollidaysburg’s Colleen Murphy.

P-O’s Amanda Arnold, Chelsea Rex and Mackenzie Wilson are among the 10 Hall of Fame inductees.

Medicine Shoppe prevails

Jordan Miller, Tristan Lingafelt and Ian Ralston each had two hits and an RBI to lead Medicine Shoppe SOP to a 12-4 win over Sheetz in an Altoona greater City League baseball game played concluded late Friday night at Vets Field.

Teammate Travis Baker added two RBIs. Tim Eck had two hits and an RBI for Sheetz.
