Lady Lions top Punxsy
Andrea Parrish delivered two hits and three RBIs, and Alexa Young fired a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts to pace Altoona past Punxsutawney, 4-1, in high school softball action at Logan Elementary School on Thursday.
Alyson Adams and Lindsey Fasolo each had two hits for Altoona, which ended the regular season with an 11-9 mark.

Tussey prevails
SAXTON – McKenna Curfman singled home Ashley Clark in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Tussey Mountain High School softball team to an 8-7 win over McConnellsburg in extra innings.
Clark had reached on a triple as Tussey improved to 10-9. Curfman finished with three RBIs.

Altoona blanked
PUNXSUTAWNEY – Lance Pennington hit a grand slam, finishing with three hits and six RBIs, as Punxsutawney downed Altoona, 13-0, in five innings in high school baseball.
Pennington was also the winning pitcher, giving up two hits with four strikeouts and no walks. Altoona (9-11) helped with seven errors.
Altoona got its only two hits courtesy of Catcher Cumming and Elliot Mast.

Ethan Vipond got the Golden Eagles’ only win, a 6-4, 6-0 singles victory over Jason Bell.

Joey Grassi tossed a two-hitter and struck out 13 as Bavarian Hall blanked Juniata Civics, 7-0, behind three RBIs from Cooper Otto and two from Logan Margroum in an Altoona Teener League baseball game for 14-year-olds.

Marasco lifts Lions
Jarod Marasco singled home Zach Kinney with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Altoona Lions Club to a 9-8 win over Locker Room in an Altoona Teener League 15-year-old baseball game.
Marasco finished with three hits.
Locker Room tied it at 8-8 with five runs in the top of the seventh. Joey Corry singled home the tying run. He finished with two hits and four RBIs.
