4-team AAABA playoffs set to start Saturday
The playoffs for the local All-American Amateur Baseball Association league will begin on Saturday in Juniata with two games.
The format is a best two out of three games. At 2 p.m., Ketrow Insurance will take on Johnston Realty while the Railbirds will take on Wise Trailer Sales at 5 p.m.
On Sunday at Juniata, Wise Trailer Sales will play the Railbirds at 2 p.m. which will be followed by Johnston Realty taking on Ketrow Insurance at 5 p.m.
The “if-needed” games will be scheduled for Monday at 5:30 p.m. The Railbirds-Wise Trailer Sales game would be at Juniata, while the Ketrow Insurance-Johnston Realty game would be at Vets Field.
The championship series, a best-of-5 format, begins Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Juniata.
Wise Trailers Sales finished in first in the regular-season standings at 16-6, followed by Johnston Realty (13-9), Ketrow Insurance (11-11) and the Railbirds (6-16).
Nate Plummer pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and just two walks as ProActive Sports beat Mainline Men in a Greater City League game Thursday at Mansion Park.
ProActive, which led 4-0 after three innings, got three hits and an RBI from John Snyder to go with three hits each from Jarrod Klausman and Tyler Neff. Mark Saxman and James Clancy also drove in two runs each for the winners.
Brandon Behe had an RBI single for Mainline Men.

Cambria Township Pony
LILLY – Braden O’Donnell singled home the game-winning run with no outs in the bottom of the seventh to help Lilly beat Northern Cambria, 8-7, in the Cambria Township Pony League playoffs.
Lilly scored three runs in the frame to stay alive in the tourney. Both teams now have one loss in the double-elimination tournament. The deciding game is tonight at 6 back at Lilly.
Garrett Martynuska had three hits and two RBIs for the winners, while teammates Tanner Perrone and O’Donnell each added two RBIs. Northern Cambria got a home run, a double and two RBIs from Logan Marino.
