Eshelman does it all for NBC

LOYSBURG – Makenzie Eshelman had three hits, four RBIs and struck out eight in earning the win as Northern Bedford County beat Williamsburg, 11-4, in high school softball Wednesday.

Rebecca Reasy had four hits, while Hannah Drenning and Kayla Ritchey added two apiece for Northern Bedford.

BG wins share of title

DuBOIS – The Bishop Guilfoyle boys volleyball team captured a share of the Mid-State Boys Volleyball League, thanks to a 25-14, 25-19, 25-19 win at DuBois in high school action.

It is the first time in school history that the Marauders have a piece of the league title. Altoona is the other co-champion.

Jamey Brumbaugh had 11 service points and 19 digs for the winners, who also got 10 service points and 10 kills from Sam Keating. Ben Kasun added 33 assists and five blocks to go with 10 kills from Damon Rickens.
