Pritchard double lifts Heights to win in 8 innings

JOHNSTOWN – Julia Pritchard had two doubles among her four hits – including one that knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, as Cambria Heights topped Richland, 8-4, in high school softball Wednesday.

Lauren Gill also had two doubles and drove in three runs for the Lady Highlanders.

Alyssa Turkovich’s double was the lone hit for Bedford.

HUNTINGDON – Philipsburg scored 17 runs in the second inning en route to a three-inning romp over Huntingdon.

P-O had 17 hits, including six doubles and a Megan Bainey home run. Haley Frank, Haylee Hayward, Kenzie Burge, Bainey, Maggie Peck, Chelsey Henry, Tiffani Wagner and Morgan Williamson had two hits each. Peck tossed a two-hitter.

Caitlin England had three hits and two RBIs for Williamsburg, while Amy Walker contributed two singles. Madison McCracken and Morgan Rackish collected two hits apiece for West Branch.

Junior high

n Glendale swept Harmony, 10-0 and 9-1, in a home junior high doubleheader. Lexi Mulhollen had a triple and double in the opener and a double and single in the second game for Glendale (5-2). Kristen Hewitt added a double and two singles in the first game. Harmony is 0-2.

n The Williamsburg junior high team fell to 1-4 with a 6-3 loss to West Branch at home in 11 innings. Alexi McMonagle had two hits and scored a run for the Lady Pirates.
