Stuart, Johnson key Lady Bears

BELLEFONTE – Megan Stuart scored twice, and all-conference pick Kyrstin Johnson scored one goal and assisted on another as the Great Commission girls soccer team won the consolation game of the Allegheny Christian Athletic Association tournament, 3-2, over Columbia Christian, on Saturday at Centre County Christian School.

The Lady Bears, who led 3-0, finished 12-2-3. Joining Johnson on the all-conference team were Kansas Klock, Lydia Pepper and Mara Pepper.

Warriors fall short

EVERETT – Windber scored the first three goals and held on for a 3-2 win at Everett in high school boys soccer on Saturday.

Kevin Knox and Dale Clark scored goals for Everett. Matt Kot, Josh McKelvey and Kevin Charney had unassisted tallies for Windber.

BELLEFONTE – Tony Gehman scored twice, and Adrian Martin registered a goal and an assist to power Juniata Mennonite over Great Commission, 4-0, in the ACAA boys soccer tournament consolation game.

Great Commission’s Jonas Salyards, Caleb Holton and Kirth Benson earned nods to the all-conference team.

Co-champs at Summit

CRESSON – Tony Mignogna and Tim Tragon were co-champions with John Dziabo and Denny Storm for first place in the Summit Country Club’s Season Ending Member Tournament after both teams carded a 51 in local golf action.

There was a three-way tie for third at 52 among the teams of Dale Perino and Nick Macchia, Ken Fisher and Joe Quinn and Rick Marshall and Dick Cox.

Therese Perino, Mary Ellen Nazit and Diana Naugle won the women’s division with a 54. Ian Dunmyer and Tyler Smolko won the junior division with a 54.
