Shable leads Huskies past Marauders

Colin Shable scored a goal and added an assist as Bishop Carroll topped host Bishop Guilfoyle, 3-1, in high school boys soccer on Monday at Tom Irwin Field.

Ryan Karlheim and Ty Krug added goals for Bishop Carroll (10-7), which opens District 6-AA playoff competition against Juniata High School Wednesday night at Mansion Park.

EBENSBURG – Seven players scored goals for Bishop Carroll in a regular-season finale rout of United in high school girls action.

Paisley Zatek led the way with two goals and one assist, and Dora Maykovich added two goals. Also scoring were Kim Sheridan, Carrie D’Andrea, Mary Holtz, Jaime Witham and Lea Sammarco.

Goalkeeper Lydia Noel had 12 saves in recording her first career shutout.

Bishop Carroll (8-10) will face Tyrone tonight at Mansion Park in a District 6 Class AA first-round playoff game.
