Panthers earn victory to hike record to 9-1

CRESSON – Penn Cambria defeated Bedford, 414-446, in high school golf Monday at the Summit Country Club to improve to 9-1.

Donte Perino led Penn Cambria with an 80. Ian Dunmyer and Derek Olsick both scored 81 in the win.

Bedford’s Kevin McDaniel led all golfers with a 78. Bedford fell to 11-3.

PENN CAMBRIA (414): Do. Perino 80, Dunmyer 81, Olsick 81, Di. Perino 85, Link 87.

BEDFORD (446): McDaniel 78, Straub 84, Toczek 92, Smith 93, Mortimer 99.

DeAngelis cards ace

Douglas DeAngelis carded a hole-in-one on the King Valley 135-yard 16th hole with a 7 iron on Sept. 26. He was playing with Louis DeAngelis.

Fitch-Machina win

HOLLIDAYSBURG – Mike Fitch and D.J. Machina carded a 62 to win the net division of the Scotch Valley Member Guest Tournament, while Dennis DeGol Jr. and T.J. Moore (63) took second. Dennis DeGol Jr. and Ben Timko tied Tim Clapper and Robb Ritchey for third at 64.

Bob Bilger and Darrne Johnston tied Bob Bilger and Brian Dinges for first at 69 in the gross division. Bilger and Tom Luciano (71) finished third.

Sylvan foursome wins

HOLLIDAYSBURG – Dick Barefoot, Don Boland, Mary Jane Terza and Helen Singel took first place in the Sylvan Hills Jack & Jill event on Sept. 24.

Gary Zimmerman, Chad Wensel, Connie Angeski and Carolyn Painter finished second, while Joe Aungst Jr., George Terza, Virginia Smith and Ivy Pennington took third.
