Brown captures ICC title

EVERETT – Claysburg-Kimmel’s Tyler Brown shot a 75 to win the Inter-County Conference Individual Golf Championship meet Monday.

Adam Osborne of Bellwood-Antis placed second with a 79 and Everett’s Logan Brallier took third with an 81. Everett won the team title with a 357, defeating Mount Union by two strokes.

Team Standings: 1, Everett (357); Mount Union (359); Northern Bedford: (382); Bellwood Antis: (391).


Heights, BG tie

Austin Gill’s 5-yard touchdown run with 3:00 left in the game propelled Cambria Heights to a 12-12 tie with Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic in junior varsity football action at Tom Irwin Field.

Derek Coy’s 25-yard second-quarter touchdown run provided the other scoring for Heights. BG got a 10-yard touchdown run from Nathan Hagg and a 5-yard touchdown pass from Josh Trybus to Andrew Irwin.

EBENSBURG – Despite Brandon Durbin’s touchdown pass to Jordan Woomer, Bishop Carroll fell to 0-2 with a 32-8 loss to Forest Hills in JV football.


Portage juniors win

PORTAGE – Taylor Glass scored 15 points to lead Portage to a 49-35 junior high girls basketball win over Claysburg-Kimmel. Kasey Chobani added 12 points for Portage in the win. Emily Claar scored 28 points for C-K.
