Lilly Conrad off to a blazing start once again

Two weeks of the Altoona Greater City Baseball League season are in the books, and guess who’s sitting on top of the standings?

You guessed it. Conrad Chiropractic/Lilly American Legion, the team that has won nine championships in 10 seasons.

Lilly has jumped out to a 6-0 record, with wins over ProActive Sports, JnD Guns, Crown Jewel Precious Metals/Cox Refractories, the Railbirds and twice against Sheetz.

The only game that was close was a 6-5 win over JnD Guns.

Besides that one game, Conrad Chiropractic/Lilly American Legion has won by an average of almost eight runs per game.

Lilly’s pitching could not have been much better, getting one lights out pitching performance after another.

Matt Aungst had led the team with a pair of wins and has had 11 Ks, while Landon Sinclair has one win and has struck out 11 in his two games pitched. Zach Stere has a pair of wins and has totaled just four walks in his two games thrown.

The offense has been, in one word, spectacular.

Ryan Ickes is leading the way with a .508 batting average (8-for-15). Brandon Ickes is second in batting average, hitting .476, and Cody Gallaher leads the league in runs scored with 14.

Brent Davison and Sinclair have both slammed home runs.
