LHAC stars picked

EBENSBURG – Bedford’s unbeaten boys track and field team highlighted the 2013 Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference spring sports all-conference selections.

Steven Stroup and Jacob Wirick were Bedford’s selections, and Brian Creps was the coach of the year.

Other league champions honored were the Bedford baseball team (Luke Campbell and coach Scott Waugerman) and the Penn Cambria softball team (Kelly Yusko and coach Jake Casale).

Ketrow shut out

JOHNSTOWN – Austin McMonagle had two hits, but Ketrow Insurance fell to OA Orthopedics, 8-0, in a AAABA game at Point Stadium Tuesday.

Logan Fluke and Greg Martin combined for the shutout for OA Ortho.

HOLLIDAYSBURG – Jacob Plunkett and Dylan Benton combined for six innings pitched, allowing just four hits in Gority Builders’ rout of Club GT, 13-3, in an Area 4 VFW 13-14 year-old game.

Johnny Gority drove in three runs for Gority Builders, while Trevor Miller chipped in three hits.

Cumming Motors wins

HOLLIDAYSBURG – Jason Adams had a triple and added an RBI for Cumming Motors as it defeated Crossroads, 11-1, in six innings of Area 4 VFW 13-14 action.

Nick Villano and Zach Reidell added two hits each for Cumming Motors, while Caleb Marasco struck out five while earning the victory.
