P-O’s Showers rains on Central’s parade

PHILIPSBURG – Abby Showers homered and drove in three runs, and Haley Frank also had three RBIs as Philipsburg-Osceola improved to 15-1 with a 13-4 victory over Central in high school softball on Monday.

Taylor McKnight homered twice for the Lady Dragons and drove in all four Central runs.

HOLLIDAYSBURG – Mount Union defeated Hollidaysburg, 12-0 and 14-4, in junior high girls softball.

Mikayla Warren and Mikayla Focht each had two hits for the Lady Tigers in the second game. Hollidaysburg fell to 16-10.

Glendale sweeps

CLAYSBURG – Glendale improved to 9-2 in junior high softball with a 9-4, 12-7 doubleheader sweep of Claysburg-Kimmel.

Kenisha Gustafson had a triple and single in the first game for Glendale, while Syndney Gallaher ripped a triple. In the second game, Baylee Crook had a home run and a double, winning pitcher Kyla Holtz hit a triple and a single, and Anna Fowler hit a triple and a single.
