District 6 tennis seeds set
Hollidaysburg’s Amir Alkhafaji and Altoona’s Chad Allender are seeded for this weekend’s District 6 Class AAA Boys Singles Tennis Championships at the Leopold Courts.
Alkhafaji is seeded second, and Allender is third. State College’s Cooper Josephs is the top seed.
Juniata’s Issac Eck is the top seed in Class AA, followed by Jeremy Burnheimer of Westmont Hilltop, Adam Trexler of Central Cambria, Nick Centar of Bishop Guilfoyle and Austin Perow of Huntingdon.
Class AA begins play at 9 a.m. Thursday, and AAA starts at 10 a.m. on Friday. The finals in both events will be at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Bedford drops pair
BEDFORD – Bishop McCort swept a pair of matches against Bedford, 4-1 and 5-0, to drop the Bisons to 5-8 in high school tennis Tuesday.
Jack Bittner picked up Bedford’s lone victory.

Chad Allender and Chris Reighard won singles matches, and the teams of Mustafa Ahmad and Sam Houk and Matt Eiman and Joey Settimio won doubles matches in Altoona’s 4-1 victory over Mifflin County at the Leopold Rec Center in high school tennis.
The Mountain Lions improved to 10-1.

Tiger netters sweep
HOLLIDAYSBURG – Eric Miller won in both singles and doubles in the first meet, and Jordan Kirsch picked up victories in singles and as part of a doubles team as Hollidaysburg’s high school tennis team improved to 12-1 by sweeping Huntingdon in a doubleheader.
The Tigers took the first meet by a 7-0 count and prevailed in the second, 5-2.

NC tops Lions
Tanner Baumgartner had 16 assists, eight digs and seven kills for Altoona as it fell to Northern Cambria, 21-25, 18-25, 18-25, in high school volleyball at the AAHS Fieldhouse.
Kody Clawson added seven service points and seven digs for Altoona, while Northern Cambria improved to 6-0.

Dylan Appleman had 12 service points, Robbie Dibert added 10, and Josh Link and Matt Price each had nine kills for the Scarlet Dragons.

EBENSBURG- The Central Cambria junior high girls volleyball team fell to Penn Cambria, 25-19, 25-23, as the Lady Red Devils fell to 1-5.
Central Cambria won the junior varsity match, 27-25, 17-25, 16-14.
Carroll tops Heights
EBENSBURG – Bishop Carroll defeated Cambria Heights, 25-10, 25-13, in junior high volleyball to improve its record to 10-1. Jordyn Platt had 11 service points, five kills and 14 assists, and Hannah Cotchen chipped in with seven kills.
