Altoona outlasts Rangers

Josh Over had nine service points and 10 digs for Altoona as it outlasted Forest Hills, 25-21, 19-25, 25-19, 23-25, 18-16, in high school boys volleyball on Tuesday at the AAHS Fieldhouse.

Noah Stewart added eight service points and eight kills for the Mountain Lions, and Eric Wineland helped with 18 assists.

Altoona improved to 2-2, while Forest Hills fell to 4-1.

Lady Tigers beat B-A

HOLLIDAYSBURG – Mikayla Focht led Hollidaysburg with 12 service points and six aces as it defeated Bellwood-Antis, 25-6, 25-16, in junior high girls volleyball action.

Madison Clapper added 11 service points and five aces, as Hollidaysburg picked up its first win at 1-3. Kala Wooten had four kills for Bellwood-Antis.

8th grade: Bellwood-Antis, 24-26, 25-13, 15-10.

Lady Panthers win

GALLITZIN – Anna Audley, Miche Burkett and Alyssa Montgomery had seven service points each to lead Penn Cambria past Johnstown, 25-6, 25-18. Penn Cambria is 5-1.

8th grade: Penn Cambria, 25-22, 25-18.

Carroll wins

EBENSBURG – Bishop Carroll (6-0) defeated Bishop McCort, 25-11, 25-15, behind Rebecca Kwisnek’s 10 service points and Hannah Cotchen’s eight service points and nine kills. Jordyn Platt added 19 assists.

Heights juniors win

JOHNSTOWN – Cambria Heights defeated Westmont Hilltop, 20-25, 25-19, 15-8. Cambria Heights is 4-1.
