Wilson-Adams hoping for repeat

Last year, Tyrone’s Charles Wilson-Adams got a taste for gold when he competed at the PIAA state track and field championships, winning the top honor in the high jump. As a senior this spring, he’s back for more.

Wilson-Adams is hoping for a chance to defend his title, while others from the Mirror’s coverage area would like a shot at duplicating, or improving upon, last year’s efforts. Others like Northern’s Bedford’s Zach Pressel is hoping to get back after finishing in the top 10 in the event.

Altoona graduated a ton of talent in the form of Ryan Steinbugl, Dylan Mountain and Korey Replogle, but the Mountain Lions do return DeShae Lee, who won a bronze in the high jump a year ago.

Bellwood-Antis earned a silver medal in the 1600 relay last year, and returning from that quartet are Seth Worthing and Ian O’Shea.

Here is a capsulized look at the teams in the Mirror’s coverage area.
