Tigers’ Power scores 7 goals

BELLE VERNON – Macky Power scored seven goals, including six in the first period, and assisted on two others to lead Hollidaysburg to a 13-0 romp over Carrick in high school ice hockey Thursday.

Brent Heaton scored two goals, Brandon Ritchey, Kent Brustle, Hunter Shields and Andrew Yanowski also scored. Ritchey and Mitchell Gregory assisted on three goals apiece.

Mountain Lion JVs triumph

The Altoona junior varsity team defeated Penn Trafford, 3-0, behind goals from Camrin Yoder, Shane Burgmeier and Joseph Dombrowski.

Altoona goalie Catcher Cumming stopped all 17 shots he faced.

Bishop Guilfoyle freshmen lose

JOHNSTOWN – Adam Patula scored for goals for Richland as the Rams doubled-up Bishop Guilfoyle, 6-3, in freshman hockey at Planet Ice.

Jeff Larkin, Alex Lieb and Austin Myers each scored for BG (4-5-2).

Portage on mark against Colts

NORTHERN CAMBRIA – Zachary Stair and Candice Ramus each shot a 275 to help the Portage high school rifle team defeat Northern Cambria, 1,361-1,133.

Blair Hornick led the Colts with a mark of 238.

Everett falls to Forest Hills

SIDMAN – Despite setting a new team record for highest score, the Everett rifle team lost at Forest Hills, 1,332-1,326.

Steven Williams (265), Ethan Foor (263) and Travis Shoemaker (258) each shot personal bests for the Warriors, while Hunter Deremer led the team with a 278.
