Tigers swim teams hike record to 6-0

PATTON – The Hollidaysburg boys and girls swim teams both improved to 6-0 Wednesday afternoon, thanks to a sweep at Cambria Heights.

Double winners for the Tiger boys, who won 111-55, were Max Gehring, Brian Flynn and Jaden Mauk. The Lady Tigers used a balanced effort to win 122-45 as they had did not have a double winner.

The two wins gave head coach Deb Solomon her 324th and 325th victories of her career.

Both Heights teams fell to 3-2.

Everett rifle sets mark

ROCKWOOD – The Everett high school rifle team defeated Rockwood, 1299-1138, and set a new team record for high score in a match.

Hunter Deremer shot a career-best 280, and Steven Williams contributed a 260.

EVERETT (1299): Deremer 280, Williams 260, Rice 259, Weyer 258, Khune 242.

ROCKWOOD (1138): Mort 245, Henry 244, Baker 223, Benford 216, Barchey 210.

Altoona freshmen win

The Altoona freshman ice hockey team knocked off State College, 9-2, at Galactic Ice.

Cole Yeckley, Cameron Yeckley and Tyler Lamont each scored two goals for Altoona, and Cole Yeckley and Lamont each had three assists. Goalie Remington Cumming made 21 saves out of 23 shots.
