HEADING HOME: Peoples Natural Gas Field is in the Elite 8 of the Ballpark Digest Best of the Ballparks fan vote contest for Double-A. PNG Field finished as the runner-up in the contest last year to Hartford’s Dunkin’ Donuts Park. This year, PNG Field already has advanced through two rounds of voting to get to the Elite 8. The current round has Altoona’s ballpark going up against Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas, a club owned by former Curve owner Chuck Greenberg. This round runs through 3 p.m. Thursday, and fans can vote online every day from each one of their devices at ballparkdigest.com.
