LEADING OFF: The Curve were rained out for the second straight day at Akron on Saturday. The teams will play a doubleheader today beginning at 1:05 p.m. Friday’s rainout will be made up in a doubleheader Saturday, July 8 at 5:35 p.m.

SAFE AT FIRST: Today’s pitchers: Curve RHP Yeudy Garcia (0-2, 6.43) and RHP Sean Keselica (2-0, 0.00) vs. RubberDucks RHP D.J. Brown (0-1, 9.00) and RHP Julian Merryweather (2-1, 3.04).

STEALING SECOND: Keselica will make his first start of the season today after being terrific out of the bullpen. In seven appearances and 151⁄3 innings, Keselica has yet to allow an earned run and has surrendered only four hits. He has given up one unearned run, and has held hitters to an .080 batting average while striking out 18 with four walks.

ROUNDING THIRD: After today, the Curve and Akron will have play nine times already. But it gets even worse. The two teams will play four games in Altoona later this month, then three in Akron a few days later. So by June 1, the Curve will have played 16 of their first 51 games against the RubberDucks.

HeADING HOME: The Curve will head to Richmond after today’s doubleheader for a three-game series beginning Monday. They return home Thursday.
