Lambo has strong debut at AAA
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., – Andrew Lambo picked up in Triple-A where he left off in Double-A.
Lambo belted a walk-off homer in the 13th inning as Indianapolis beat Norfolk, 9-8, in the longest game at Victory Field before 9,276 on Sunday afternoon.
The Indians tied the game up in the ninth inning when Jared Goedert knocked Felix Pie with one out.
Lambo, who was in his second game since being promoted on Friday, went 1-for-2, scoring twice and driving in three runs. He also walked three times. The walk-off homer is his second in a week after he hit an opposite field walk-off on Tuesday in the Curve’s 7-6 win over Reading.
While with the Curve, Lambo had reached based in 55 games. He had successfully reached in 28 consecutive games before being called up and led the Eastern League with 14 homers. He also lead the league with 27 extra-base hits and 123 total bases
The start was Lambo second appearance with the Indians. In his first game, Lambo went 0-for-4 but drove in a run.
This is Lambo’s second stint in Triple-A. He played with Indianapolis in 2011 when he played 60 games, hitting just .184.
