Lawhead, Turner honored

ROARING SPRING — Altoona’s Scotty Lawhead and Bedford’s Jared Turner both shot 80s for medalist honors but it was the Mountain Lions who came out ahead in wins over Bedford (341-343) and Central (341-345) at Iron Masters Country Club on Monday in high school golf.

Central’s Noah Bauman was two strokes back with an 82.

ALTOONA (341): Lawhead 80, Fasolo 87, Lucas 86, Geisler 88.

BEDFORD (343): Turner 80, Tokarczyk 89, Hall 90, Edwards 84.

CENTRAL (345): Baker 83, Bauman 82, Brumbaugh 87, Snowberger 93.

Colts cruise

Aaron Krug won medalist honors to lead Northern Cambria to a 457-592 victory over Bellwood-Antis.

The Colts had three others shoot under 100, while the Blue Devils’ best score was a 111 by Noah Patton.

Mustangs roll

CRESSON — Austin Gentile and Ethan Dyche each carded 45s to share medalist honors and help Portage defeat Conemaugh Township, 237-259, at Summit Country Club.

Grace Thomas had a low score of 46 to lead Township. Portage’s Max Herman followed her with a 47.
