Claysburg, Glendale highlight all-stars

D6 Softball

District 6 announced its high school softball all-star teams for all classifications and the Altoona Mirror coverage area was well represented.

The PSBCA Class 1A-2A all-star team saw 10 players from Claysburg-Kimmel and Glendale being named.

The Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Vikings, which had five players apiece, will meet in Thursday’s Class 1A title game.

C-K was represented by seniors Emily Claar (infielder) and Jazmin Kennedy (outfielder) and by sophomores Olivia Bushore (pitcher), Harleigh Cavender (catcher) and Haileigh Reed (infielder).

Glendale placed senior pitcher Lexi Mulhollen, junior infielder Alaney Vereshack, sophomore infielder Olivia Reese, junior outfielder Madison Lukehart and freshman outfielder Lilley Vereshack.

Moshannon Valley and Bellwood-Antis also had two players each make the team as seniors Chloe Blake was picked as an infielder and McKenzie McCoy was named as an outfielder for the Damsels, and freshman Jaidyn McCracken (outfielder) and junior Haley Schmidt (designated player) were picked for the Lady Blue Devils.

Central led the way for the Class 3A team as pitcher Dylan Claycomb (senior), catcher Cameryn Feathers (junior), third baseman Tori Longenecker (junior), and outfielders Ashley Negley (senior) and Maddi Metzler (senior) were selected.

Philipsburg-Osceola was the only other team from the coverage area as the Lady Mounties had three players picked in senior pitcher Kam Harris, junior first baseman Roselyn Weaver and sophomore designated player Hannah Minarchick.

Tyrone and Cambria Heights had two players each picked to the Class 4A-5A-6A team, while Hollidaysburg had one named.

The Lady Eagles were represented by junior pitcher Cate Baran and sophomore second baseman Ella Pearson, while the Lady Highlanders had sophomore shortstop Emma Stockley and junior outfielder Abby Lobick.

Junior Trinity Molliver was the Lady Tigers selection as she was named as an outfielder.
