Krug’s milestone part of BG victory

Bishop Guilfoyle senior setter Gabby Krug reached a milestone of 3,000 career assists as the Lady Marauders swept Forest Hills, 25-11, 25-11, 25-15, Tuesday night in high school girls volleyball action at the Pleasant Valley gym.

“That is a tremendous accomplishment for Gabby to reach 3,000 career assists,” BG coach Bob Kasun said. “I haven’t seen too many setters reach that milestone. Gabby works extremely hard for her success, and she is passionate about her teammates and our team’s success.”

Pam Lund recorded 10 kills and 10 points for BG (12-4) while Beth Yahner added 10 points and 11 digs. Lyzee Wilson and Teresa Haigh each added 10 kills to go with 10 digs each from Emily Brown and Alicia Nicolini. Brown and Rachel Meintel each added 12 and 10 service points, respectively.

Hartman shines

ALEXANDRIA — Thanks to 15 service points and 10 kills from Megan Hartman, Claysburg-Kimmel won 25-18, 25-15, 17-25, 25-12 over Juniata Valley.

The Lady Bulldogs (14-4) also got 14 assists from Corryne Weyandt to go with nine digs from Harleigh Cavender and nine service points from Bailey Garver.

Valley got seven service points each from Hayden Taylor and Madi Dick to go with 11 kills from Emma Musser.

Panthers triumph

CRESSON — Penn Cambria beat Richland, 25-20, 25-19, behind 17 assists and 11 digs from Laken Guzic and 12 digs and nine kills from Mia McCarthy.

The Lady Panthers (10-6) also got eight service points from Makalyn Clapper.

Conrad keys Heights

PATTON — Olivia Conrad paced Cambria Heights with 12 kills and 11 digs as the Lady Highlanders swept Johnstown, 25-19, 25-15, 25-16.

Emily Henry had eight service points and 11 digs for the Lady Highlanders, while Nicole McCombie registered 29 assists. Shaylee Packard led Heights in service points with 12.

Lady Eagles soar

HUNTINGDON — Kylee Gooding registered 15 kills, 14 service points, 20 digs and three aces as Tyrone swept Huntingdon, 25-17, 25-13, 25-20.

Mattie Cherry had 19 assists for the Lady Eagles, Ebonee Rice had 18 digs, and Courtney Williams had five blocks.

Tyrone improved to 8-4 overall and 7-4 in the Mountain League.
