Troutman stays in Victory Lane

BEDFORD — The racing weather in Bedford Friday night was winter-like cold, but Dave Troutman was hot for 25 laps.

Troutman, who waited a decade between Bedford feature wins before scoring last week, jumped back in only seven days later to score again in Friday night action.

The recent pair of wins doubled Troutman’s career total to four late model wins at the track, the other both coming in late 2007.

In other action, first time winners reigned as Kyle Ganoe scored his first career 305 win and Troy Johnson took the EMod event. Josh Frankenberry took the pure stock event before Wayne Brenize ended his short retirement with a four-cylinder win.

Williams Grove

Mechanicsburg — Brock Zearfoss of Jonestown picked up his first win of the season Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway, claiming $3,600 in the 410 sprint car feature while Chase Dietz picked up the win in the 358 sprint main event.

Port Royal

Port Royal — Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tennessee, continued his hot streak on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series by winning Sunday Night’s Rumble by the River at Port Royal Speedway.

Bloomquist took the lead on lap two of the 50-lapper and never looked back in scoring his series all-time leading 88th win, worth $10,000.

Bloomquist also moved to within five victories of his 600th career victory as his second LOLMDS win in the last three series races was the 595th of his Hall-of-Fame career.

On Saturday, more than 90 total sprint cars filled the pits at Port Royal Speedway for Open Wheel Madness featuring action for the 410 sprints, URC Sprints and the 305 sprint cars.

Winners on the night were Brock Zearfoss in 410s, Kyle Smith in 305s and Lucas Wolfe in URC for what was a photo finish.
