Lucas’ slam more than enough for P-O

HUNTINGDON — Madison Lucas delivered a grand slam as one of her two hits to lead Philipsburg-Osceola to a four-inning 15-0 victory over Huntingdon Thursday in high school softball action.

Winning pitcher Kam Harris came through with three hits, including a double, and two RBIs, while Rachel Simpson tallied three hits and three RBIs.

Jayde Burge amassed two hits and knocked in two runs, while Kylie Adams had two hits for the Lady Mounties.

JOHNSTOWN — Penn Cambria answered a bad inning in which it surrenderred three runs, by putting up four of its own in the top of the fifth, thanks in part to a bases-loaded, two-RBI double from Katrina Britton as the Lady Panthers held on to beat Johnstown.

Britton finished the day with three RBIs.

Sydnie Reese struck out 10 as the winning pitcher for Penn Cambria while also smacking two doubles and brining in one run. Haley Bicko had three RBIs on three hits for Johnstown.

Penn Cambria improved to 2-0 while Johnstown fell to 1-2.

JOHNSTOWN — Emma Stockley’s two-run homer in the top of the first set Cambria Heights on the winning path as the Lady Highlanders took down Westmont Hilltop in five innings.

Abby Lobick held Westmont Hilltop to one run and struck out eight as she pitched a complete game for Cambria Heights.

Stockley and Lobick each had a double. Chloe Weakland also had a double and drove in three runs, as did with Sydney Rodgers.
