Lady Vikings finish off Lady Bulldogs in five

CLAYSBURG — Glendale won the first two sets (25-18 and 25-17) before dropping the next two (8-25, 22-25) — forcing a decisive fifth set which they won, 15-12, over Claysburg-Kimmel on Thursday night in high school girls volleyball action.

Katieann Rydbom led the Lady Vikings with 10 service points, including two aces, and nine assists.

Kristen Hewitt delivered 12 digs and Raylene Simmers accounted for 10 kills for Glendale.

Claysburg got 14 kills and 15 service points from Emily Claar to go with 10 kills, 11 digs and 12 service points from Megan Hartman.

Corryne Weyandt added 15 assists to go with 10 service points from Justinna Brown, while Elizabeth Dodson contributed 13 assists for C-K.

Ritko leads Lady Tigers

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Hollidaysburg survived a five-set match against Central Mountain (25-21, 25-23, 16-25, 11-25, 15-12) as Rylee Ritko led the Lady Tigers with 28 digs, 12 kills and 12 service points.

Eden Taddei registered 20 digs and 10 kills and Mackenzie Reed had 19 assists and nine digs for Hollidaysburg.

Claire Sauerland amassed 10 digs and nine kills and Olivia Dipangrazio totaled 17 digs for the Lady Tigers.

SAXTON — Tussey Moun­tain defeated Northern Bedford, 15-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-13, 15-11.

The Lady Panthers got 12 service points and nine kills from Maddie Cherry to go with 11 service points from Madison Johnson, while Mara Laird added 12 kills.

No other information was reported on the game.

JV: Tussey Mountain won 2-1.

Lady Mustangs sweep

ROCKWOOD — Eight of Kylie McCarty’s match-high 17 service points were aces, as Portage knocked off Rockwood in three sets, 25-15 25-11, 25-15.

Olivia Kissell collected 14 service points and six assists for the Lady Mustangs, who also received 13 service points from Rhianna Benton, five kills from Summer Viscusi and five assists from Izzy Crum.

BEDFORD — Leah Bracken recorded team-highs of 31 assists and nine service points to spark Central Cambria to a sweep over Bedford, 25-13, 25-16, 25-15, which improved the Lady Devils’ record to 10-1.

Abbie Young came up with 24 digs and eight points, while Jenna Bauer collected 14 kills for Central Cambria.

The Lady Huskies got 30 assists and 10 service points from Kayla Repko to go with 13 service points from Carly Clark, 19 digs and 11 kills from Kate Yahner and 11 kills from Anna Haigh.

Lady Pirates prevail

WILLIAMSBURG — Williams­burg topped Juniata Valley in Inter-County Conference action, 25-16, 25-8, 25-17.

Valley’s Emma Musser registered 12 kills, 12 digs, 12 service points and four aces, while Jayda Hoffmaster collected 19 digs and 12 kills.

Halee Smith had 15 kills and five blocks and Hayden Taylor notched 38 assists for the Lady Hornets.

TYRONE — Penns Valley defeated Tyrone 25-10, 26-24, 18-25, 25-18.

Lea Crofcheck led Tyrone with 14 service points, 11 kills and 17 digs to go with 23 assists from Mattie Cherry, while Ebonee Rice added 20 digs.

Sydney Lechner totaled 24 assists and led the Lady Blue Devils with nine service points, while Sakeria Haralson tallied nine kills and six blocks and Alexis Parson had nine digs.
