Brennecke in the right place at the right time for visiting Marauders

EBENSBURG — HJ Brennecke’s goal at the 70th minute was enough to give Bishop Guilfoyle a 2-1 win at Central Cambria in high school boys soccer action Thursday.

Brennecke scored in the first half for Guilfoyle to tie the game at 1-1.

The Red Devils got their lone goal from Noah Gibson at the 22:00 mark.

With the win, the Marauders improved to 3-6 while Central Cambria fell to 4-9.

BELLEFONTE — Moryelle Fernandez’ goal in the first half held up as Bellefonte knocked off Hollidaysburg.

The Golden Tigers got eight shots on goal but Josh Gaus saved them all to preserve the shutout.

Hollidaysburg fell to 8-5 while Bellefonte improved to 10-3.

PATTON — Alex Diamond had a goal and an assist, and Caleb Duclos assisted on a pair of goals as Cambria Heights blanked Saltsburg.

Adam Bobak, Nick Maiocco and Corbin Shutty also scored for the Highlanders. Cody Patterson needed to make just five saves in the shutout.

Saltsburg remained winless at 0-12 while Cambria Height simproved to 8-5.

DUNCANSVILLE — Hudson Dull and Jonathon Hight each found the net twice as undefeated Blair County Christian squashed visiting DuBois Christian.

Hudson Dull had the other goal to go along with a pair of assists. Davis Dull also had two assists. Landen Barnes got the shutout in goal.

Blair Christian, up 2-0 at halftime, improved to 13-0 while DuBois dropped to 4-8 on the season.
