Mountain Lions pick up victory over MC

Altoona closed its match strong, winning the final four bouts, including three by fall, to carve out a 42-36 victory over visiting Mifflin County Wednesday night in high school wrestling action.

With Altoona trailing 36-24 the Mountain Lions’ Jerrell Kephart (138 pounds), Kobe Harr (145) and Haden Boutiller (152) notched consecutive falls to tie the match  before Hunter Stoudnour took a forfeit win at 160 in the final bout of the night to give Altoona its margin of victory.

Altoona (2-0) also got a fall from Nate Simmers at 220. In the feature bout of the night, at 170, returning Class AAA state runner-up Trent Hidlay of Mifflin County bested Northwest Regional champion Brinton Simington, 9-3.
