R. Scott Pennabaker, 75, Auburndale, Fla., went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday morning at his summer home in Houtzdale.
He was born in Bellwood, son of the late Hayden Albert and Katherine Isabelle (Shaner) Pennabaker. He married Betty Jane Miller on Oct. 10, 1962, in Elkton, Md.
Surviving are his wife of more than 51 years, Betty; three children: Jodi Lynn Levins and husband, David, of Winter Haven, Fla., Brent Howard Pennabaker of Auburndale, Fla., and Jennifer Jo Gregory and husband, Christopher, of Lakeland, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Amanda, Savanah, Kathryn, Devin, Aaron, Jeremy and Jacob; two sisters: Edith Cunningham and husband, Francis, of Hubbard, Ohio, and Sondra L. Pennabaker of Hubbard; a brother, William of State College; and many nieces and nephews.
Scott retired as a cook at Pepperidge Farm after many years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served four years of active duty from 1958-62 and two additional years in the Naval Reserve.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, Pastor Kevin Howard officiating. Interment will be in Florida.
