Dorothy Rose Eckenrode, 87, Cresson, died Wednesday at home.
She was born in Gallitzin, daughter of the late John and O'tillia (Jenkins) Bismark.
Surviving are seven daughters: Nancy McConnell of Loretto, Diane Holtz of Patton RD, Shelley McIntosh of Lilly, Joyce Eckenrode at home, Lynn Fusco of Altoona, Debbie Mock of Patton RD and Beth Eckenrode of Ebensburg; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clara Bradley of Cresson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. "Bud"; a grandson, Chad Mock; a brother, Joe Bismark; and four sisters: Esther Diehl, Theresa Sweeney, Louise Schoenfeld and Marie Vasas.
Dorothy was formerly employed as a secretary at the Pentagon for several years. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson.
At the request of the deceased, viewing will be private. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at St. Aloysius Church, the Very Rev. John D. Byrnes as celebrant. Committal will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
