Barbara L. Walker, 84, Altoona, died Saturday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Cumberland, Md., daughter of the late Cecil and Elizabeth (Matt) Schriver and her step-mother, Mary Schriver.
Barbara married Paul G. Walker on Oct. 29, 1950, in Hancock, Md. He died May 2, 1988.
Surviving are two daughters: Susan Rodgers (Jim) and Linda Guida (Bill), both in Altoona; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Gene Dahlstrom, in California; a step-brother, William Schriver (Maryann) in Cumberland; three step-sisters: Joann Smith (Larry) of Flintstone, Md., and Dorothy Natally (John) and Peggy Brakaell (Charlie) in Cumberland, Md. She is also survived by her companion, Mason George Sr.
She was preceded in death by a two daughters: Sharon M. Walker and Pamela Dahlstrom; a brother, Ronald Schriver; and a step-brother, John Paul Schriver.
Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Catholic Girls Central High School in Cumberland, Md.
She had formerly worked at ACME markets and retired from Servomation as a food processer.
Barbara was a past member of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
She enjoyed fishing, flea markets, yard sales and antiques.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Stevens Memorial Chapel by Rev David H. Roesch. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
